A Comparison of the Responsibilities of the Three NH EMS Boards
NH Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Coordinating Board
The New Hampshire Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Coordinating Board was created by statute to develop and routinely update a plan for the operation of a statewide system of emergency medical patient care.
NH Medical Control Board
The EMS physicians who serve on the NH Medical Control Board, oversee the medical aspects of planning and administration for the statewide EMS system. They are all actively involved with EMS squads and hospitals in their local communities and are dedicated to continually improving the quality and scope of services that our EMS system provides to victims of illness or injury in our state.
NH Trauma Medical Review Committee
The New Hampshire Trauma Medical Review Committee (TMRC) was created by statute to oversee the establishment of the NH Trauma System and to ensure the continuous improvement of the system. The TMRC is made up of physicians and surgeons representing different organizations and specialties, emergency and trauma nurses, representatives from statewide EMS-related organizations and hospitals, and representatives of other entities that play an important role in trauma care and injury prevention.
