The Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) licenses approximately 300 EMS Units, close to 400 ambulances and over 4,500 prehosiptal EMS care Providers, at four main certification levels (First Responders, EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate and Paramedic) Certified providers are eligible for a state EMS Providers license which is required under RSA 153-A in order to practice prehospital emergency medicine. The following is a statewide statistical breakdown of each level:
