NH Bureau of Emergency Communications (E-911)

A statewide Enhanced 9-1-1 system has been operational since July 5, 1995. Currently more than 1,200 9-1-1 calls are received daily at the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) in Concord. Greater than 50% of the call volume is from cellular phones.

EMS is represented on the NH Enhanced 9-1-1 Commission which serves as a policy-making Board for the 9-1-1 system.

All 9-1-1 telecommunicators are certified to international standards in Emergency Medical Dispatch.

Effective July 1, 2003, the NH Bureau of Emergency Communications (NHBEC) was transferred from the NH Department of Administrative Services to the NH Department of Safety, Division of Fire Safety and Emergency Management.

Further information on the NH E-911 system is available through NHBECM at (603) 271-6911 or toll-free within New Hampshire at (800) 806-1242.
