Bureau of Graphic Services Building, Concord, NH
Request for Artist Proposals

The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, through the Percent for Art program, is pleased to announce an opportunity for artists to submit proposals for the commission of new or acquisition of existing artwork for the Bureau of Graphic Services Building in Concord, NH

The Percent for Art program provides for a modest ½ of 1 percent of the cost of construction or significant renovations of state buildings to be used for public art, ensuring that our public buildings are imbued with beauty that complements the building’s function and enhances the mission of the state agencies housed there.

  • Download the Request for Proposals: PDF only
  • Onsite Informational Meeting and Tour: Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 2pm
  • Deadline: Proposals for this project must be postmarked or delivered to the State Arts Council by Friday, February 3, 2012
  • Eligibility: Artists submitting proposals must be a legal resident of the United States and possess a Social Security number.
  • Budget: Up to $4,690

IMPORTANT: Artists receiving a commission may not begin projects prior to notification of a fully approved contract. Contracts issued by the State Arts Council for the commissioning or the acquisition of artwork are typically paid in three increments. Processing of the initial payment may take 6-8 weeks. Subsequent payments may take 3-4 weeks. Artists receiving contracts are strongly encouraged to plan cash flow based upon the length of time required for processing payments.

The Bureau of Graphic Services Building addition was approved in the State Capital budget in FY2011. The Percent for Art program of New Hampshire State Council on the Arts is authorized through RSA 19-A:9.
