Darryl Furtkamp, Andover
Darryl Furtkamp is the director of the Art Gallery and Assistant Professor of Art at New England College and is a practicing painter and printmaker.
Mr. Furtkamp has held various professional positions in the arts with colleges and universities, museums and community based programs. His experience ranges from college level teaching to art program design and implementation, arts and healing, and curatorial. His previous board experience includes the Missoula Writing Collaborative in Missoula, MT, Upstream Arts in Minneapolis, MN and the Currier Museum of Art Advisory Board in Manchester, NH.
Mr. Furtkamp’s own works are fictional narratives combining elements of collage with new painting and drawing in hand-crafted or found object frames recalling Byzantine icons and early Renaissance altarpieces. He exhibits widely throughout the United States and his works are in numerous public and private collections.
