Submit a Recording

The Traditional Music Collection is a service of the Traditional Arts Program of the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts. The collection is a working resource that helps to promote and preserve the wide range of traditional music in New Hampshire.

We welcome submissions to this collection from all traditional musicians and groups in New Hampshire.

Criteria for inclusion are:

  • The recording should be representative of a particular cultural, ethnic, or community tradition. Recordings of original compositions that express a distinctly personal styling are more appropriate for the State Arts Council's general music collection.
  • The majority of musicians appearing on a recording should be residents of New Hampshire.
  • There should be a means for the public to obtain a copy of the recording. This can be through a web site, email address, home address, telephone number, and/or listing of retail outlets where the recording is available.

Submissions are reviewed by the Traditional Arts Program for inclusion in the Traditional Music Collection on an ongoing basis.

Please allow 2-3 weeks for notification on the status of your submission.

Donations are greatly appreciated.

  • If you are donating your recording, please check the appropriate circle on the submission form pdf file.
  • If your submission is not accepted to the Traditional Arts Collection, we will include it in the State Arts Council's general music collection.
  • If you are not in a position to donate your recording, please check off the "invoice" circle on the submission form. If your submission is accepted into the Traditional Music Collection, you will be contacted and invited to submit an invoice.
  • If your submission is not accepted, it will be returned to you.
