RSA 21-P:61 Highway Safety Unit; Governor's Representative
There is hereby created the state highway safety unit as a unit within the Department of Safety which shall be the agency responsible under the executive direction of the Governor to develop and implement the state's highway safety program. The Commissioner shall be the governor's representative with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and will aid the Governor in the coordination of interdepartmental activities and those of the various political subdivisions.

RSA 21-P:64 - Traffic Safety Commission
Representatives are nominated by their respective organizations and appointed by the Commissioner of the Department of Safety. Initial appointments shall be: 4 members for one year, 5 members for 2 years, and 5 members for 3 years. After the initial term, members shall each serve for terms of 3 years and until a successor is duly qualified and recommended by their respective organizations. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired terms in the same manner as the original appointment.
