School Safety Task Force and Resource Center:

The Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management remains very active on the Governor's School Safety Task Force and in accordance with Recommendation 49, developed the NH School Safety Resource Center.

In February 2018, after the tragic school shooting in Parkland, Florida, Governor Chris Sununu established the Governor's School Safety Task Force. Over the course of 90 days, the NH School Safety Task Force and associated working groups spent more than 1,000 hours researching and discussing the most pressing issues involving school safety and security. In the report, the Task Force identified 59 agreed upon recommendations.

A list of recommendations and progress is available on the NH School Safety Resource Center.

The NH School Safety Resource Center is the direct result of the NH Governor's School Safety Task Force's recommendation number 49 to "establish and maintain a complete and centralized school safety preparedness online resource center to make it easier for schools and interested parties to access relevant information."

The goal of the NH School Safety Resource Center is to have a central location of the resources available to assist educators, emergency responders, community organizations, school mental health professionals, families and students in creating safe, positive and successful educational environments for students in all New Hampshire schools.
