Arts in Health Care Partnership Conference at Concord Hospital - June 7 & 8, 2013
The Arts in Health Care Conference was a partnership between the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts and Concord Hospital and was held for two days in June. The aim of the conference was to advance the use of the arts in New Hampshire health care settings, and featured a day of programming for health care leaders and providers and a second day for artists and arts organizations.
Roster artist Theophilus Martey led the artists in a stretching exercise to limber up thoughts and muscles during the second day.
Keynote speaker for both days was Gary Christenson, Chief Medical Officer of Boyton Health Service in Minneapolis, Minnesota and former president of the Global Alliance for Arts in Health Care.
Artist June Latti set up an exhibit of art work done by residents at a former Merrimack Valley Nursing Home in New Hampshire. The artworks illustrate the expressive and healing power that the arts can have.
