2007 Governors Arts Awards
Nominees

The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts received 14 nominations for the 2007 Governors Arts Awards. Members of the Governors Arts Awards Selection Committee, appointed by State Arts Council Chairman Karen Burgess Smith of Exeter , recommended five of these nominees to Governor John Lynch andFirst Lady Dr. Susan Lynch, who is the Honorary Chairman of this year’s awards program.

Governor John Lynch and Dr. Susan Lynch officially announced the award recipients on October 25, 2007 at aState House reception honoring all of the nominees. On April 24, 2008, the award recipients will be presented with original commissionedartworks as awards during a celebration atthe Colonial Theatre in Keene .  

The Governors Arts Awards are held every other year. This year’s Awards recognize outstanding, sustained accomplishments in five categories: arts education, arts patronage, distinguished arts leadership, and lifetime achievement as artists.
