Labor Day Weekend

Colonel Robert L. Quinn announces that the New Hampshire State Police is prepared for the increased traffic flow during the upcoming Labor Day weekend.

Highway Safety will be a priority as the State Police prepare for an influx of holiday traffic marking the end of the summer vacation season.   Troopers will be conducting enhanced patrol activities throughout the state which will be aimed at reducing aggressive, distracted and impaired driving.   Drivers are asked to stay focused on the road and minimize cell phone use while in transit.   Motorist rest areas will be open statewide to assist you in arriving safely at your destination.  Please plan ahead; leave extra travel time and make arrangements to use a designated driver if celebrating with impairing substances.

This year has shown a marked reduction in highway fatalities in New Hampshire.  Special enforcement efforts by Troopers are part of an ongoing campaign to reduce these tragic losses.  Please enjoy the holiday weekend knowing that the safety of you and your family is of the utmost importance to the men and women of the New Hampshire State Police.
