Serious Motor Vehicle Crash, Route 111/151 North Hampton, New Hampshire

On Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at approximately 1737, New Hampshire State Police-Troop A and North Hampton Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 111 and Route 151. It was determined that a 2017 Honda CRV, operated by 72 year-old Lynda Simmons of Hampton, was traveling east on Route 111 when it collided with a 1999 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by 56 year-old Richard Moore of Hampton which was traveling south on Route 151. Although he was wearing a helmet, Moore was transported to the Portsmouth Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries then later Med-Flighted to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Simmons was uninjured.

At the request of the North Hampton Police Department, the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation. Due to the collision, the intersection of Route 111/151 was closed for approximately 4 hours and traffic was diverted around the collision. The New Hampshire State Police were assisted on scene by the North Hampton Police Department, the North Hampton Fire and Rescue Department, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

Update 10/4/2020

On Sunday, October 4th, Richard Moore passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital from the injuries sustained in the crash. This case remains under investigation at this time.
