Reckless Driving, Spaulding Turnpike, Dover, NH

On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, Troopers assigned to the New Hampshire State Police, Troop-A barracks were monitoring traffic on the Spaulding Turnpike in the city of Dover. At approximately 7:20 am, Trooper Taylor Griffin observed a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro with a Massachusetts registration traveling northbound at high rate of speed. Trooper Griffin clocked the vehicle at 92 miles per hour in a posted 55 mile per hour zone, and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The male operator, identified as Jeffrey Downs age 44 of Stow, Massachusetts was subsequently placed under arrest for Reckless Operation. Mr. Downs was released on bail and issued a notice to appear in the 7th Circuit- Dover District Court on June 16, 2020 at 8:15 am.

This same vehicle being driven by the same operator, Jeffrey Downs, was stopped by Troop-A Troopers on Monday May 4, 2020, just two days ago, in the same area for traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour. During the incident on Monday, Mr. Downs was cited for Reckless Operation, and he was issued a summons to appear in the 7th Circuit- Dover District Court on June 16, 2020 at 8:15 am.
