Closure of I-93 North In Canterbury, Canterbury, NH

On February 24, 2020, at approximately 10:41 a.m., the New Hampshire State Police – Troop D was notified of a commercial vehicle that had rolled over and caught fire on I-93 north, just north of Exit 17.
Upon arrival of troopers at the scene, they found a 2014 International tractor-trailer containing a 30' dump body, overturned in the median. The vehicle was also on fire.

Initial investigation indicated that the operator, Carl Wingard, age 55, of Chelsey, Massachusetts, was driving northbound when he drove off the left side of the road for some unknown reason that has yet to be determined. The dump body was half filled with gravel at the time of the crash.

One person was transported to the Concord Hospital for suspected minor injuries.

New Hampshire State Police – Troop D was assisted at the scene by the New Hampshire State Police – Troop G, Concord Police Department, Concord and Canterbury Fire-Rescue and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
At this time, two lanes of travel are shut down. Traffic is moving slowly through the breakdown lane.
