On Saturday February 22, 2020 at approximately 6:15 a.m. Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop-A responded to Route 101 in the Town of Exeter for a report of a two-car motor vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle. Initial on-scene investigation revealed that a 1998 Honda Civic being driven by N.H. age 16, of Greenville, NH was traveling eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle due to an unknown mechanical failure. After losing control, the Honda Civic veered left into the left travel lane directly in the path of a 2016 Freightliner tractor trailer being driven by Heath Bleau, age 44, of Palmer, MA. The Freightliner impacted the Civic which sent the Civic into the guardrail on the right side of the roadway. The Freightliner sheared through the guardrail and came to final rest approximately 50 feet off the roadway into the wood line. Both operators and the passengers in the Civic sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision. A portion of Route 101 was closed for approximately 4 hours while the Freightliner was recovered from the woods by New England Truck Center.

The Troopers from New Hampshire State Police Troop-A were assisted at the scene by NH State Police Troop-G Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Unit, NH Department of Transportation, members of the Exeter EMS/ Fire Department as well as New England Truck Center.
