Commercial Motor Vehicle rollover Interstate 89 South, Enfield, NH

On 11/8/19 at approximately 12:43 A.M. the New Hampshire State Police, Troop D received a 911 call of a Commercial Motor Vehicle roll over with entrapment on Interstate 89 south in Enfield, NH. The weather was a mix of rain and sleet. The road conditions were icy. The box truck drove off the roadway into the median and overturned. The operator:

Roy El Chidiac
Age 50
Saint-Laurent, Quebec

was the sole occupant of the vehicle. El Chidiac was pinned under the dash of the driverís seat when fire and rescue personnel arrived on scene. Lebanon Fire was able to extricate him from the vehicle safely. El Chidiac was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital and appears to have only suffered minor injuries.

Several pallets of bread that was inside the box truck spilled into the median. The removal of the box truck and spillage of materials caused the left lane to be closed for several hours.

Lebanon Fire and Rescue, the NH DOT and Corey Pattenís Auto & Truck Works assisted the State Police at the scene. Trooper First Class Abbott Presby of Troop G also responded to the scene to conduct a Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspection Report. The crash is still under investigation at this time. Anyone who witnessed the crash is encouraged to contact Trooper Kenneth McGrath of the New Hampshire State Police, Troop D at 603-227-0088.
