Drowning on Milton Pond, Milton Pond, Milton NH

On Saturday September 21, 2019 at approximately 4:46 PM, Strafford County dispatch received a call of a swimmer in distress on Milton Pond in the area of the town dam. Farmington Fire and Rescue responded along with Milton Police. Upon arrival, a female who was unrelated to the victim, was in the water attempting to locate the missing male swimmer. He was located underwater a short time later. He was unconscious and removed from the pond with the assistance of the Farmington Fire Department.

First responders immediately began CPR and were able to regain a pulse. The victim was transported to Frisbie Hospital in Rochester in critical condition. New Hampshire State Police-Marine Patrol responded to the hospital and began an investigation into the incident along with officers from the Milton Police Department.

After several hours, the victim was identified as a 17-year old male from Milton, NH. He was transported to Maine Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. His name is being withheld pending notification of family.
