Motor Vehicle Crash, Route 101, Raymond, NH

photo of crash scene

On Monday, August 26, 2019 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop-A barracks responded to Route 101 westbound in the town of Raymond for a report of a rollover crash. Upon arrival Troopers located the vehicle, a 2003 Ford Mustang, approximately 75-100 feet up the embankment on the right side of the roadway.

Initial on-scene investigation revealed that the vehicle being driven by Bradley Sprague, age 40, of Nottingham, New Hampshire, was traveling westbound in the high speed lane of Route 101. As Mr. Sprague passed a vehicle, he lost control, and crossed over the travel lane before the vehicle careened up the embankment in a northwesterly direction.

It appears that Mr. Sprague was ejected out of an open driver's side door as the vehicle left the roadway. He was transported via ambulance to the Elliot Hospital in Manchester with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The travel lane of Route 101 was closed for approximately one hour while the crash was investigated and the vehicle was recovered.

New Hampshire State Police Troop-A Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Raymond Police Department, the Rockingham Sherriff's Department, the Raymond Fire Department, and Morgan's Towing.

It appears that speed played a role in the causation of this crash; however, all aspects of the crash remain under investigation. Anyone with information pertaining to this crash is asked to contact Trooper Stefan Wagner of the New Hampshire State Police, Troop-A Barracks at (603) 233-8490 or Stefan.wagner@dos.nh.gov.
