Serious injury motor vehicle crash, route 135, Littleton, NH

On Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at approximately 4:45 PM, Littleton Police Department was requested to respond to a serious motor vehicle collision on Route 135 in the town of Littleton, New Hampshire. Upon their arrival they located 2 vehicles at the scene. The first vehicle was identified as a 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer. The second vehicle was identified as a 1999 Honda VT750C motorcycle.

Based upon the initial investigation, the Mitsubishi Lancer was traveling northbound on NH Route 135 and was attempting to make a left turn onto Interstate 93 northbound (Exit 43). The motorcycle was traveling southbound when the Mitsubishi Lancer made the left turn in front of the motorcycle. The operator of the Mitsubishi Lancer was identified as, Derek Holbrook, age 19 of Lower Waterford, VT sustained no injuries in the collision. The operator of the Honda motorcycle was identified as, Joshua Yearlge, age 44 of Littleton, NH sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Yearlge was transported by ground to Littleton Regional Hospital and was then flown to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for further treatment. Due to the severity of the crash, the Littleton Police Department requested the assistance of the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit. Upon arrival the investigation was handed over to the C.A.R. Unit for further investigation.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction, (C.A.R.) Unit was assisted on scene by Littleton Police Department as well as Troopers from New Hampshire State Police Troop F Barracks, and Littleton Fire/EMS. Due to the collision, NH Route 135 in the area was restricted for approximately 5 hours.

At this time it does not appear that impairment was a factor in this crash, however all aspects remain under investigation.
