Motor Vehicle Accident, Route 101 Westbound/Hampton, New Hampshire

On Thursday, June 27, 2019, at approximately 0130 hours, Troopers from The New Hampshire State Police Barracks at Troop A were notified of a motor vehicle collision along Route 101 West in the Town of Hampton. Upon arrival, responding Troopers found three involved vehicles and were able to identify all parties involved. As the investigation took place, Route 101 westbound was shut-down between the Exit 12 off and on ramps.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that an initial collision took place due to erratic operation. The involved vehicles were rendered inoperable as a result of that crash and came to final rest within the travel portion of the roadway. Almost immediately after the first collision, a third vehicle collided with the first two vehicles and the roadway became impassible. First responders worked for approximately two hours to ensure the safety of those involved, and work towards opening the roadway for the motoring public.

At the conclusion of the investigation, two of the drivers were arrested for their involvement in the crash. Logan Brander, age 30, of Goffstown, New Hampshire was charged with DWI, Reckless Operation, and Control of Premises (knowingly present where a controlled drug is stored). Additionally, Corey Laycock, age 30, of Sandown, New Hampshire is charged with DWI – 3rd offense. Both subjects were bailed and are scheduled for arraignment in the 10th Circuit Hampton District Court.

At-scene Troopers were helped significantly through the cooperation of the Hampton Police Department and the Stratham Police Department. Should anyone have further information related to this crash, they are asked to contact Trooper Geoffey Miller at 603-679-3333.
