Drug investigation, North Hampton, NH

On June 19, 2019 at approximately 2:15 pm The New Hampshire State Police Mobile Enforcement Team, (MET), was working a joint drug investigation in conjunction with the FBI Safe Streets Taskforce.

One of three subjects in a motor vehicle was taken into custody with a quantity of narcotics in a parking lot the town of Hampton after exiting vehicle. The driver and occupant in the vehicle fled the scene. A short motor vehicle pursuit was initiated by Trooper Jeffrey Costa on Rte#1 northbound until the fleeing vehicle's speed, reckless operation and risk to the public caused Trooper Costa to discontinue.

The vehicle was located a short time later in the area of North Road in North Hampton after crashing into the woods. A search of the area by a State Police K-9 Unit in conjunction with the State Police Air Wing resulted in the successful apprehension of both subjects without incident. Stolen vehicle aspects remain under investigation. The three individuals were identified as;

Luis A. MORETA (Operator)
AGE: 21
CHARGES: Disobeying An Officer, Reckless Conduct – Felony, Reckless Operation, Resisting Arrest, Sale of Controlled Drug – Conspiracy,

Fernando J. SILIA (Subject initially taken into custody)
AGE: 19
CHARGES: Sale of Controlled Drug – Conspiracy, Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Sell


Lexis M. NEVAREZ (passenger)
AGE: 20
CHARGES: Sale of Controlled Drug – Conspiracy, Resisting Arrest

All three individuals were released on PR Bail and are due to appear before the Rockingham County Superior Court for arraignment on June 28th, 2019. The State Police were assisted by the Hampton, North Hampton, Greenland and Rye Police Department's as well as the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department.
