Motorcycle Crash, Route 9- Stoddard, NH

photo of the motorcycle involved in the crash

On Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at approximately 9:47 PM, Troopers from Troop C were requested to assist the Stoddard Police Department and investigate a serious motor vehicle crash on Route 9, just west of Route 123 South.

Investigation revealed that a 2006 Honda CRV operated by

Casey ACCARDI
Age: 26
Of Wellesley, MA

was traveling westbound on Route 9, followed by a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by

Sean BARBER
Age: 45
of Wilmington, VT.

when a deer suddenly ran in front of ACCARDI's vehicle, causing her to brake abruptly. Despite her efforts, she still struck the deer. BARBER was following ACCARDI too closely and attempted to stop the motorcycle, lost control and crashed, sliding off the roadway. BARBER's vehicle did not make contact with ACCARDI's.

BARBER suffered critical injuries and was transported by helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. BARBER's passenger was transported by ground ambulance to Concord Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The passenger's identity is being withheld because they are a juvenile.

Route 9 was closed for approximately an hour and a half while the scene was investigated. The Stoddard Fire Department and Diluzio ambulance assisted on scene.

This collision remains under investigation at this time. Anyone that may have further information related to this crash is asked to contact Trooper Thomas Byrne via Troop C dispatch at 603-223-8494 or email at Thomas.Byrne@dos.nh.gov.
