Driving While Intoxicated Collision/Arrest, Main Street Stewartstown

On June 11th at approximately 7:30 pm, Troopers from New Hampshire State Police-Troop F responded to the report of a two-vehicle crash on Main Street in Stewartstown, NH. Upon arrival, Troopers observed that a blue Ford F-150 operated by;

Jason Morabito, 31,
Canaan, Vermont,

had crashed through a fence and into the back of the Spa Restaurant. Initial investigation revealed that Morabito had also struck a black Lexus.

Eyewitnesses stated that Morabito crossed the centerline as he entered Stewartstown from Canaan and operated his vehicle on the sidewalk facing the wrong direction of oncoming traffic. Morabito proceeded to operate the vehicle down the sidewalk, making contact with the guardrail. Morabito then crossed traffic again and went onto the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street. Morabito then crossed two lanes of traffic a third time in the direction of the black Lexus. The driver of the Lexus attempted to evade the oncoming car but was struck by Morabito. After colliding with the Lexus, Morabito continued down Main St, crossed both lanes of traffic a fourth time, crashed through a fence before coming to final rest against the back of the restaurant.

Morabito was screened by EMS for injury and cleared. Morabito was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, 2nd Offense, and transported to Colebrook Police Department for processing. Morabito was released and scheduled to appear at Colebrook District Court on June 27th.

Troopers were assisted by Agents of the US Border Patrol and 45th Parallel EMS and Colebrook Fire Personnel.
