Hit and run accident involving bicyclist, Tamworth, NH

On June 10th, 2019, at approximately 3:00 PM, Trooper Hawley Rae and Trooper Cameron Vetter responded to an incident where a bicyclist was struck by a motor vehicle. This incident occurred on Route 41 in the town of Tamworth. The female cyclist was traveling north on Route 41, just north of Ossipee Lake Road, when she was struck from behind by a vehicle. The vehicle struck the rear tire area of the bicycle, causing the cyclist and the bicycle to flip over. The vehicle then left the scene without stopping.

The cyclist believed the vehicle was a white, silver or possibly gray pick-up truck. The vehicle may have damage to the front passenger side bumper, but if there is damage, it is most likely minimal. The cyclist suffered several minor injuries and was transported from the scene to undergo further evaluation.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Trooper Hawley Rae of the Troop E barracks at (603) 223-8838 or (603) 323-3333.
