DWI Saturation Patrol, Lakes Region, New Hampshire

In a continued effort to decrease the incidents of drinking and driving, the New Hampshire State Police will be conducting a DWI Saturation Patrol in the Lakes Region on Saturday June 8th, between the hours 9:00 p.m. and 3:00am. This directed patrol is an effective method of detecting and apprehending impaired drivers, and also focusing on other hazardous motor vehicle violations. These patrols are, approved by the New Hampshire Highway Safety Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which provide federal highway safety funds to support these saturation patrols.

A review of records has shown that the use of alcohol by individuals, who operate motor vehicles, has resulted in a consistent number of deaths and personal injury accidents. The number of Driving Under the Influence arrests made in the Lakes Region continues to be high. Therefore, in an effort to maintain safe roads in the area, the New Hampshire State Police, in conjunction with our other law enforcement partners, will be visible and proactive during these summer months, and especially during the 2019 Motorcycle Week in and around the Lakes Region.

The New Hampshire State Police is asking for the public's help in keeping the roadways safe by reminding motorists to please think before consuming alcohol and always use a sober driver. Please drive safely.
