Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash, FE Everett Turnpike Southbound Merrimack , NH

Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash, FE Everett Turnpike Southbound MeOn Tuesday May 28th, 2019, at approximately 5:36 pm, Troopers from New Hampshire State Police Troop B, as well as members of the Merrimack Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of Mile Marker 15.6 on the FE Everett Turnpike Southbound, in the Town of Merrimack, NH.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the operator of a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek was traveling southbound in the left lane at a high rate of speed, and attempted to move into the right lane of travel. Witnesses state that as the Subaru moved into the right lane, the operator lost control of the vehicle and it slid sideways from the right lane back toward the left lane, striking a 2015 Toyota Camry in the area of its rear bumper. Witnesses stated that the Subaru then went off the right side of the roadway on two wheels while traveling down the grass embankment before striking several trees.

The operator of the Subaru, a 23 year old male from Merrimack, NH was transported from the scene to St. Josephs Hospital in Nashua, NH, with life threatening injuries. The 23 year old succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the Hospital.

The operator of the Toyota Camry, a 41 year old male from Lowell, Mass was not injured in the crash.

The Merrimack Fire Department closed down the right travel lane while their rescue operation was underway. The right lane remained closed until the entire scene was processed by New Hampshire State Police.
