Motor Vehicle Crash, Interstate 93 Southbound, Salem, NH

On May 27th, 2019, at approximately 6:30 pm, Troopers from New Hampshire State Police Troop B, as well as members of the Salem Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle crash, with ejection, just south of Exit #1 on Interstate 93 South, in Salem, NH. New Hampshire State Police received reports that multiple vehicles were involved and that several subjects had been ejected from those vehicles

Preliminary investigation revealed that 3 vehicles were speeding and driving erratically prior to the crash. One of those vehicle, described as :

2006 Acura RSX
Color Blue
Mass Reg : 1GRC44

lost control while changing lanes, skidded into the breakdown lane, and struck the guardrail. An occupant of the Acura RSX , a 21 year old male from Lawrence, Mass was ejected on impact. After the Acura RSX struck the guardrail it skidded back onto the roadway and stuck a second vehicle, described as :

2012 Toyota Sienna
Color Grey
Mass Reg 3PXJ40

before coming to final rest in the middle travel lane. The Sienna came to rest in the high speed lane. The operator of the Sienna, a 56 year old female from Dracut, Mass and her elderly parents, were transported to Lawrence General Hospital for evaluations.

The 21 year old male occupant of the Acura RSX was transported to Lawrence General Hospital with serious, but not life threatening injuries.

Debris and motor vehicle parts from the crash covered several lanes; Interstate 93 was shut down for approximately 1 hour while emergency personnel worked the scene.
