On May 15, 2019 at approximately 7:05 p.m. New Hampshire State Police Troop B was notified of a pedestrian in the highway on the Everett Turnpike Southbound in the area of the Exit 4 off-ramp in the City of Nashua. It was reported that the pedestrian had either fallen or collapsed on the highway. Within minutes of the original call it was then reported that the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. Upon the arrival of emergency personnel it was determined that the pedestrian was deceased. It was also determined that the vehicle involved had left the scene. The victim was eventually identified as Juliette Koss, age 68 of Nashua, NH.

At the request of the New Hampshire State Police Troop B, the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation. Due to the collision, three lanes of the F.E. Everett Turnpike were closed for approximately 4 hours and traffic was diverted around the collision. The New Hampshire State Police were assisted on scene by the Nashua Police Department, the Nashua Fire and Rescue Department, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

There were several witnesses to this crash all who describe the vehicle involved as a tan colored mid to full size SUV type vehicle. This vehicle should have damage to the front end and bumper area.

At this time it is unclear why the vehicle fled the scene however all aspects remain under investigation. Anyone that may have further information related to this crash, please contact Trooper Daniel Quartulli at 603-223-8993 or email at daniel.quartulli@dos.nh.gov.
