Motor Vehicle Crash, I-93 North at Exit 4, Londonderry

On 04/08/19 at approximately 7:33 P.M., Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks in Bedford received a report of a motor vehicle rollover on Interstate 93 northbound, north of exit 4 in the construction zone. Troopers responded to the area to find a male subject lying in the roadway with significant injuries to the head and upper extremities. The subject was immediately treated by rescue personnel and transported to the Elliot Hospital; he was later identified to be 60 year old Phillip William Todisco of Pensacola, Florida.

Approximately 30 feet away from Todisco, a Red 2019 Kia Sorrento SUV was located against the jersey barrier, facing southbound in the northbound lane. The vehicle sustained heavy damage to all sides to include full front and side curtain air bag deployment. The vehicle was determined to have been operated by Todisco.

Further investigation revealed that the operator of the rollover vehicle, Phillip Todisco, was traveling northbound in the Kia Sorrento SUV at a high rate of speed when he struck the rear of a small passenger sedan that was traveling in the right lane. The sedan was identified as a Black 2017 Toyota Corolla being operated by 21 year old Christopher Lampman of Manchester.

After the initial impact, the SUVs direction altered left towards an assortment of large orange construction barriers. The SUV traveled through the barriers and entered a yaw-type skid. The SUV then struck the concrete traffic [jersey] barrier at a high rate of speed which caused the interlinked barriers to set back approximately six (6) feet from their original arranged location. After striking the barriers the SUV rolled over several times before coming to rest against the barrier further northbound on the high speed side.

It was determined that Todisco was not wearing a seatbelt. The initial on scene investigation suggested that during the rollover event Todisco was ejected out of the vehicles panoramic moon-roof and onto the pavement.

Londonderry Fire and EMS responded to the crash scene and the highway was fully shut down for approximately 20 minutes while those involved were evaluated and witnesses interviewed. As a result of this incident, Todisco was transported to the Elliot Hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment for his injuries. Lampman did not sustain any injuries.

The incident is still under investigation and anyone with further information pertaining to this incident is urged to contact Trooper Nick Quintiliani and/or Trooper Robert Bifsha at (603) 223-4381 or by email at and
