Arrest Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense/Assault on a Police Officer, Bow

On March 10th 2019 at approximately 8:30 am Trooper First Class Barrett saw a car pulled to the side of the road on Route 93 southbound in the area of mile marker 31.6. TFC Barrett approached the driver, who was later identified as: Amy Haynes Age: 34 Nashua, New Hampshire and noticed several signs that she may have been impaired. Haynes agreed to field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the test TFC Barrett arrested Haynes for driving while intoxicated, second offense. Throughout the field sobriety tests, the sole passenger in the car had to be warned by TFC Barrett several times not to get out of the car. The male was later identified as: Justin Reid Age: 34 Manchester, New Hampshire

TFC Barrett placed Haynes in the back of his cruiser without incident. At this point Reid exited the car and demanded to talk to Haynes. TFC Barrett told Reid to get back into the car. Reid then pushed TFC Barrett backwards toward his parked cruiser. Staff Sergeant William Graham arrived on scene and both troopers approached Reid. Reid was told that he was under arrest. As the troopers attempted to handcuff Reid he pulled his arms away and locked his arms together in front of him. Reid actively tried to get away from the troopers by spinning around and pulling away. Staff Sergeant William Graham deployed an electronic control device (Taser) at which time Reid was brought to the ground and handcuffed.

Both Haynes and Reid were transported to the Merrimack County Jail. Haynes has been charged with driving while intoxicated 2nd offense and was released on bail to appear in Concord Court on March 15, 2019. Reid has been charged with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration. Reid was bailed and scheduled to appear in Merrimack Superior Court on March 28, 2019.
