Motor Vehicle Accident, I-93 South Exit 8, Manchester, NH

On Wednesday, February 20th, 2019 at approximately 3:43 p.m., the New Hampshire State Police Troop B received a report of a motor vehicle accident where the vehicle had rolled over onto its roof in the tree line in the area of the Exit 8 On Ramp on Interstate 93 Southbound in Manchester, NH.

Preliminary investigation shows that the operator, 70 year old Barbara Peterson of Stoughton, Massachusetts was operating, a 2011 Acura TSX, with her passenger, 80 year old Dorothy Lourie of Hingham, Massachusetts, when the vehicle drove off the right side of Interstate 93, into the gore, continued across the Exit 8 On Ramp where it ultimately struck the guardrail on the right side of the roadway. The motor vehicle continued to flip over the guardrail onto its roof and came to rest in the tree line of the embankment. Both occupants of the vehicle were trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by Manchester Fire Department Personnel. Both subjects were transported to the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH to receive further medical attention after suffering life threatening injuries.

Circumstances surrounding this event are still under investigation as it is still unclear at this time why the vehicle went off the roadway.
