Vehicle fire / I95 closure, Interstate 95/Greenland, NH

On October 08, 2018, at approximately 1430 hours, Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police-Troop A barracks responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 95 south in the Town of Greenland, NH.

Preliminary investigation shows that a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, being driven by Robert Green (age 30) of Norwood, MA, was traveling southbound on Interstate 95. The vehicle suffered a minor collision with a second vehicle as both were proceeding through heavy traffic. For unknown reasons, the Chrysler Pacifica began to smoke and quickly became engulfed with fire as emergency personnel responded.

All occupants of the Chrysler Pacifica were able to exit the vehicle prior to sustaining any injuries.

As a result of the events, all southbound lanes of travel were shut-down for approximately fifteen minutes while the fire was extinguished.

Assisting the New Hampshire State Police at the scene was the Greenland Police Department, as well as the Greenland Fire Department and Newington Fire Department.
