Vehicle crashes into Merrimack River, I-93 NB, Concord, NH

On 10/8/18 at approximately 1730 hours, New Hampshire State Police dispatch received a 911 call informing them of a reported motor vehicle accident on I-93 NB in the area of exit 14 in the City of Concord, NH. The report was a single motor vehicle veered to its right, off the road, and into a field along the Merrimack River. The vehicle continued north through the field, where the vehicle eventually became air borne, and crashed into the river. Once State Police and Concord Fire and Rescue arrived on scene they observed a large SUV upside down and completely submerged. Concord Fire and Rescue eventually were able to stabilize the vehicle and extricate one female occupant from the vehicle while still submerged. The patient was transported to the Concord Hospital where she is in critical condition. This crash is still under investigation.
