Serious Motor Vehicle Collision, Interstate 93 North, Lincoln

On October 1, 2018 at around 9:49a.m. ,the New Hampshire State Police-Troop F received the report of a serious motor vehicle collision on Interstate 93 Northbound in the town of Lincoln. Troopers responded and the on-scene investigation revealed that a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling northbound at approximately 60 MPH and struck the rear of a tractor-trailer unit that was also traveling northbound, described as a 2003 Kenworth hauling a load of wood chips. The Equinox was being operated by a; Traci Sackett, age 37, Warren, NH.

Sackett suffered moderate to serious injury and was initially transported to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, NH, and was later transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, to be treated for her injuries. Sackett was traveling with a juvenile female who received only minor injury in the collision.

The Kenworth was being operated by a Dakota Heon, age 23, Farmington, NH.

Heon had no other passengers in his vehicle and was not injured in the collision. The investigation further revealed that Sackett was believed to have been under the influence of drugs at the time of the collision and was subsequently arrested and charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated contrary to RSA 265-A:3. Sackett will be required to appear before the 2nd Circuit-District Division-Plymouth Court on October 15, 2018 to answer to the charges. Interstate 93 Northbound was shut down for approximately one hour while troopers investigated.

Assisting on scene were members of the New Hampshire State Police-Troop F, New Hampshire State Police-Troop G, Lincoln Police Department, Lincoln Fire Department, as well as the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
