Training Accident, Kingston

On Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at approximately 12:53 pm, detectives from NH State Police, Troop-A were requested by Chief Donald Briggs of the Kingston, NH Police Department to assist with the investigation of a training accident involving a Kingston Police officer. It was reported by Chief Briggs, that two law enforcement officers, one of which was employed by the Kingston Police Department, were utilizing the town of Kingston shooting range located on Doore Road. As one of the officers was drawing his sidearm from the holster, a round was discharged and the round entered the officer's leg. First aid was rendered on-scene, and the officer was transported to the Exeter Hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury. This investigation remains open, but the incident has been confirmed as an accidental discharge.
