On Friday, August 11th at approximately 10:28 PM NH State Police - Marine Patrol was notified of a boating crash on Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith in the area of Cattle Landing.

Officers responded to the call and arrived minutes later. Preliminary investigation found that a Yamaha jet boat with four people onboard was travelling approximately 12 miles per hour from the Weirs fireworks when they struck a submerged rock. The impact ejected an adult male into the water, where he suffered a head injury. He was able to climb back onto the boat and was identified as, Shawn Carr, age, 35 of Seekonk, MA. A 13-year old boy, who was identified as operating the boat, sustained both facial and hand injuries. The two other passengers onboard the vessel were uninjured.
