Tractor Trailer Crash, Interstate 95 North, Hampton Falls

On Thursday, August 2, 2018, at approximately 5:00 am, Troopers assigned to the New Hampshire State Police Troop A barracks responded to a report of a motor vehicle rollover involving a tractor trailer on Interstate 95 northbound in the Town of Hampton Falls. Upon arrival, Troopers encountered a crash involving two tractor trailers.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Unit #1, a 2012 Volvo, being operated by William Davis, age 49 of Girardville, PA, was traveling northbound on Interstate 95 when it drifted into the breakdown lane and struck unit 2. After striking unit 2, unit 1 exited the roadway and rolled over on its side. Davis was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Unit 2, a 2007 Kenworth, operated by Maxo Louis, age 45 of Lee Acres, FL, was parked in the breakdown lane when it was struck by unit 1. Louis was not injured in the crash.

As a result of this crash, other crashes occurred due to the debris in the roadway.

Al's Automotive of Exeter, NH arrived on the scene with heavy equipment for the recovery of the vehicles and clean-up of the crash site.

It is expected that two lanes of Interstate 95 northbound will remain closed until approximately 12:00 p.m. while crews worked to clean up the scene.

The New Hampshire State Police, Troop A, were assisted at the scene by New Hampshire State Police Troop G, the Hampton Falls Fire Department, and NH Department of Transportation. The tractor trailers were removed from the scene by Al's Automotive of Exeter, NH.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information pertaining to this incident is asked to contact Trooper Eric Call, New Hampshire State Police, Troop A, at (603) 223-8490.
