Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision, Route 3, Lancaster

On Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at approximately 2:03 p.m., the Lancaster Police Department responded to a motor vehicle collision on Route 3 at Country Village Road in Lancaster, New Hampshire. This collision involved a vehicle and a pedestrian on a motorized wheelchair. The motor vehicle is described as a 1997 Jeep Wrangler and was being operated by Andoni A. Koxarakis, Age: 37, Lancaster, NH.

The Jeep Wrangler was also occupied by two juveniles. The pedestrian on the motorized wheelchair was identified as Pauline Clark, Age: 76, Lancaster, NH Preliminary, on-scene investigation revealed that the Jeep Wrangler was traveling southbound on Route 3 when it collided with Clark's wheelchair, which was in the process of crossing Route 3 in a designated crosswalk at the intersection of Route 3 and Country Village Road.

Clark sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. Neither Koxarakis nor any of his passengers sustained any injuries in the collision.

The New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit was requested to respond to the scene and investigate the collision.

Due to the collision, Route 3 was closed for approximately 4 hours. The CAR Unit was assisted on scene by the New Hampshire State Police-Troop F, New Hampshire State Police-Troop G, the Lancaster Police Department, the Northumberland Police Department, New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, the Lancaster Fire Department, Lancaster EMS and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

At this time all aspects of this collision remain under investigation and the is cause is unknown, however neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors in the collsion at this time.
