Man Arrested After Presenting A False Social Security Card at the Salem DMV
On April 25, 2018, at approximately 11:30 a.m., staff at the New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles in Salem, alerted the New Hampshire State Police – Troop G to the presence of a male subject, who was believed to be using fraudulent documents in an effort to obtain a New Hampshire driver's license. The New Hampshire State Police were advised that the male was identifying himself as Johny M. Saroufim age 42, of Revere, MA.
With the cooperation of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Troopers on scene were ultimately able to determine that the social security card Saroufim presented was fraudulent. The New Hampshire State Police took Saroufim into custody at the Division of Motor Vehicles in Salem. He was charged with one criminal offense of Tampering with Public Records and released on a $5,000.00 personal recognizance bail. Saroufim is scheduled to be arraigned at the 10th Circuit Court– District Division – Salem on June 14, 2018 at 8:00 a.m.
The New Hampshire State Police – Troop G was assisted by members of the New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Salem Police Department.
