Motor Vehicle Accident and Vehicle Fire, Temple

On Friday, April 13th, 2018, at approximately 2:40 AM, Trooper P. Randall of the New Hampshire State Police Troop B barracks in Bedford, NH responded to a motor vehicle crash fully engulfed in flames south bound on Route 45 in Temple, NH. Temple Fire, EMS, Temple Greenville Police, and the State Fire Marshal also responded to assist on scene.

While on scene Trooper P. Randall observed a 2015 Jeep Wrangler fully engulfed in flames in the middle of the right roadway. Preliminary investigation indicates that the Jeep was traveling south bound on Route 45 and failed to negotiate the curve of the roadway. The Jeep left the roadway, struck a tree, and bounced back into the roadway. The vehicle immediately became fully engulfed in flames. The driver sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. The identity of the driver is pending at this time as the investigation is ongoing.

Due to the crash, both the south bound and north bound lanes of Route 45 were closed for approximately 4 hours while the scene was investigated and debris cleaned up. Traffic was diverted by the assistance of Public Works and motorists had to seek an alternate route to arrive at their destination.

At this time it appears that speed may have been a factor in this crash, however all aspects remain under investigation. Anyone that may have further information related to this crash, or who witnessed this crash are encouraged to contact Trooper P. Randall at 603-223-4381
