Reckless Driving Arrest, Vehicle Clocked 106mph, Route 2, Randolph

On April 8th, 2018 at approximately 3:15 p.m. Trooper Garrett Rella of the NH State Police Troop F was traveling west bound on Route 2 in the Town of Randolph NH when he observed two vehicles traveling east bound towards him. The second vehicle, a gray Chrysler 200 then accelerated and passed the first vehicle on a solid yellow line reaching a speed of 106MPH in the posted 55MPH zone. Trooper Rella had to take evasive action as the speeding vehicle was in his lane to avoid a collision. The vehicle was subsequently stopped by Trooper Rella and the operator was identified as; Scott M. Steiger Jr., Age 23, Laconia, NH

Steiger was subsequently arrested and charged with Reckless Driving, Overtaking a Vehicle on the left, and a Solid Yellow Line violation. He is scheduled to appear in the 1st Circuit Berlin Court on May 22nd, 2018 for arraignment.
