Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision, Route 302, Bath

On April 4th, 2018 at around 11:14p.m., a Grafton County Sherriff's Deputy came upon a single motor vehicle collision along Route 302 in the town of Bath, New Hampshire. New Hampshire State Police and the State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Unit were called to the scene to investigate the collision.

Preliminary on-scene investigation revealed that a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze being operated by David B. Aldrich, AGE 28 of Woodsville, New Hampshire, had been traveling westbound on Route 302 when his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway striking a tree. There was a male and a female juvenile passenger in the vehicle at the time of the collision. All three occupants of the vehicle were transported to the Cottage Hospital in Woodsville for their injuries.

The male juvenile passenger succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the Cottage Hospital. The female juvenile and the operator of the vehicle were later transported to the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for further treatment.

David B. Aldrich was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and will need to appear before the Grafton Superior Court on May 21st, 2018 to answer to the charge.

Units assisting the New Hampshire State Police - F at the scene included personnel from the Grafton County Sheriffs Department, New Hampshire State Police-Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit, the Woodsville Fire & Ambulance Services.
