Crash at the Rochester Tolls, Spaulding Turnpike

On Thursday March 22, 2018 at approximately 6:47 a.m., Troopers from the NH State Police, Troop-A barracks responded to the Rochester Toll plaza after receiving reports that a Waste Management Garbage Truck had struck an occupied toll booth on the southbound side of The Spaulding Turnpike. On scene investigation revealed that the side loading door was left open, and as the truck traveled through lane #1, the door struck the booth.

The operator of the truck was identified as Michael Stelline, age 29 from Lebanon, Maine. Mr. Stelline was not injured.

The toll attendant was identified as Stacy Doris, age 77 from Rochester, NH. Ms. Doris was transported to the Frisbie Memorial Hospital where she was evaluated and released with minor injuries.

Lane #1 of the Rochester toll plaza will be closed indefinitely until repairs can be made to the toll booth.

The NH State Police were assisted on scene by the Rochester Fire Department and NH DOT.
