On Sunday, January 14, 2018 at around 6:50a.m., the New Hampshire State Police-Troop F took a report of vehicle fire on Interstate 93 Northbound in the town of Ashland, New Hampshire. The vehicle was reported to be a truck hauling 2800 gallons of propane. Responding units determined that the truck's brakes had overheated for an unknown reason which was the source of the fire. The fire extended only to the truck's rear tires and was quickly extinguished. The propane tank on the truck was not involved nor was it affected by the fire and was not leaking at any time. Interstate 93 Northbound in the area was shut down for approximately 20 minutes while the flames were extinguished and the truck was determined to be safe, at which time one lane of the interstate was opened back up, allowing traffic to resume. There were no other vehicles involved and no injuries as a result of incident.

Assisting on scene were members of the New Hampshire State Police-Troop F, the New Hampshire State Police-Troop G, Ashland Fire Department, Ashland Police Department, the Holderness Fire Department, the Holderness Police Department, the Plymouth Fire Department, Plymouth Police Department and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
