Vehicle Pursuit, Route 101 West, Candia

On Wednesday, November 08, 2017, The New Hampshire State Police attempted to stop a 2012 Dodge Avenger along Route 101 West. The operator of the vehicle was reportedly distraught and had possibly threatened to harm himself with a knife. Upon locating the vehicle, the operator failed to stop for police and continued westbound for several exits. Ultimately, spike strips were deployed, and the vehicle was stopped in Candia. Traffic in either direction was completely stopped until the situation was safe.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as Rob R. Haskell, age 30, of Hampton, New Hampshire. Haskell was ultimately taken into custody and has been charged with disobeying a police officer (A misdemeanor). He is due for arraignment at the 10th Circuit Candia Court on November 9, 2017 at 1045 hours.

Many agencies contributed towards the safe resolution of this event, including the Stratham Police Department, Candia Police Department and the Rockingham County Sherriff's Office. Should anyone have further information related to this incident, they are asked to contact Sergeant Joseph Ronchi at 603-223-8995.
