On Friday, September 22, 2017, at approximately 11:15 p.m. (2315 hours) the Croydon Police Department was notified and responded to a multiple motor vehicle crash located on NH Route 10 (just south of River Road) in the Town of Croydon, New Hampshire.

Upon arrival, the at-scene investigation revealed a tan 2006 Hyundai Sonata operated by Kristine Lake, age 22 of Sharon, Vermont was traveling northbound on NH Route 10. Simultaneously a dark blue 2001 Volvo S80 was traveling southbound on NH Route 10 operated by Michelle J. FENIMORE, age 20 of Brownington, Vermont carrying passenger Nicholas Carpenter, age 18 of Coventry, Vermont.

As a result of this collision, both the operator and passenger of the dark blue 2001 Volvo S80 suffered life-threatening injuries and succumbed to those injuries, and were pronounced deceased by the office of the chief medical examiner at the scene.

The operator of the tan 2006 Hyundai Sonata operated by Kristine Lake suffered minor injuries and was subsequently arrested for two counts of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, and Negligent Homicide. She was released on $50,000.00 personal recognizance to be arraigned on the aforementioned charges in the Newport District Court on October 03, 2017 at 8:15 a.m.
