Missing Person Located, Errol

July 1st, 1998 was the last day 26 year old Tony Imondi had been seen after attending a horseshoe tournament at Bill's Seafood in Errol, NH.

Imondi was last seen leaving Bill's Seafood in his girlfriend's 1996 Ford Ranger truck. After family and friends did not hear from, or see him for several days they contacted NH State Police Troop F to report him missing. An immediate search of the area, interviews with friends and family did not reveal any clues of his whereabouts. It was unknown at the time if he had travelled south on Route 16 or west on Route 26.

A number of searches have been conducted over the years in the Errol area. Searches were conducted by the air, ground and by the NH Fish and Game Dive Team in areas along the Androscoggin River and Lake Gloriette, located in Dixville, NH, to no avail.

Although initially unsuccessful, Troop F Detectives continued to search through the years in hopes to find Imondi. Over the past month the State Police Troop F Detectives and the NH Fish and Game Dive Team focused on an area of the Androscoggin in Errol just a few miles south of Errol village. Fish and Game utilized divers in some areas and a side scan SONAR in other areas. The side scan SONAR was able to detect an image on the bottom of the river. Analysis of the image was consistent with a truck similar to the Ford Ranger. Further inspection of the area revealed that the image was in fact the missing Ford Ranger.

On September 19th, 2017 the Ford Ranger was removed from the river. The State Police Major Crimes Unit assisted with examining the truck and skeletal remains that have been located within the cab of the truck. The Medical Examiner's Office will examine the remains for identification. Imondi's family members have been notified of the discovery.
