Sobriety Checkpoint, Chesterfield

During the hours of 9:00 p.m. Saturday, September 02, 2017 through 3:00 a.m. Sunday, September 03, 2017 New Hampshire State Troopers from Troop C in Keene and officers from the Chesterfield Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Route 9 in the town of Chesterfield.

The checkpoint was authorized by an order of the Cheshire County Superior Court and conducted under guidelines promulgated by the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.

A total of 132 vehicles and operators were screened 2 arrests were made, 3 summons were issued for Transporting Alcoholic Beverages (Open Container), and multiple tickets for various motor vehicle violations.

  • Seamus S. Spendley age 23 of Keene, New Hampshire, Possession of a Controlled Drug w/ Intent to Distribute, and Possession of a Controlled Drug.
  • Cory Parent age 40 of Spofford, New Hampshire, Reckless Operation.

The New Hampshire State Police, Colonel Christopher Wagner and the Chesterfield Police Chief Duane Chickering as well as the officers of their departments consider the detection and apprehension of impaired drivers to be a top priority. They will continue to collaborate and utilize sobriety checkpoints and other means to deter, detect and remove impaired drivers from New Hampshire's roadways.
