On August 24, 2017, at approximately 4:30 p.m., staff at the Division of Motor Vehicles in Concord, alerted members of the New Hampshire State Police – Troop G to the theft of a cell phone belonging to a DMV employee. It was reported that a customer had entered the DMV in Concord and removed the DMV employee's driver license and personal cell phone, which was stored behind the counter of the employee's workstation.

Trooper James O'Leary investigated the complaint. After reviewing surveillance video and speaking with witnesses, the suspect was ultimately identified as Adam Cordano, 35 years old, with a last known address in Northfield, New Hampshire.

On August 25, 2017, Trooper O'Leary obtained a warrant for Cordano's arrest. With the help of the Merrimack County Attorney's Office, Troopers were able to determine that Cordano was staying at an address in Allenstown, New Hampshire. The Allenstown Police Department and the New Hampshire State Police K9 Unit were ultimately able to locate Cordano and take him into custody without incident. The cell phone was recovered within the residence where Cordano had been staying, along with the DMV employee's driver's license.

Cordano refused bail and is being held pending his arraignment in the 6th Circuit – District Division - Concord Court on August 28th at 11:00 a.m.
