Reckless Driving Arrests, Interstate 93 Salem

From approximately 0700-1000 hours on August 20, 2017, Sgt. Christopher Storm, of the New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit was monitoring traffic from the State Police aircraft on Interstate 93 north bound in the Town of Salem. Sgt. Storm observed a vehicle traveling at an extremely high rate of speed and clocked it at 106 MPH in the posted 65MPH speed zone. Sgt. Storm radioed to Troopers on the ground. The vehicle a 2015 Hyundai Elantra passed by the ground trooper's location. It was subsequently stopped on Interstate 93 by TFC. Thomas Conlon. The Subject was identified as, Angelina Clemons, Age 25, New Bedford, MA.

TFC Conlon made contact with Clemons. She stated that there was no reason for her speed. TFC Conlon charged Clemons with Reckless Operation. She is due to appear in the Salem Circuit Court to answer to this charge on October 12, 2017 at 0800.

A short time later, Sgt. Storm observed another vehicle traveling at an extremely high rate of speed and clocked it at 119 MPH in the posted 65MPH speed zone. Sgt. Storm radioed to Troopers on the ground. The vehicle a 2006 Toyota Highlander passed by the ground trooper's location. It was subsequently stopped on Interstate 93 by TFC. Thomas Conlon. The Subject was identified as Nicole Cournoyer, Age 28, Methuen, MA.

TFC Conlon made contact with Cournoyer. She stated that she was unaware of her speed and was trying to make an exit. TFC Conlon charged Cournoyer with Reckless Operation. She is due to appear in the Salem Circuit Court to answer to this charge on October 12, 2017 at 0800.

The NH State Police Special Enforcement Unit regularly interdicts elevated speed violations and other aggressive driving behaviors. Its members patrol across the state often utilizing the State Police aircraft during commuter traffic periods and holiday travel times with the goal of keeping New Hampshire's roadways safe for all residents and visitors.
